SB 9 Required Instructional Areas

SB 9 specifies four required instructional areas that schools in Texas must include in dating violence (along with child abuse and family violence) prevention lessons. These components must be taught under Texas Education Code § 28.002(u):

The Freedom House Presentations that were approved include: 

1. Recognize the Signs of Abuse and Grooming - Child Abuse
2. Teen Dating Violence, School Violence, and Online Safety
3. Human Trafficking and Sexting 
4. Teen Dating Violence
