Open Records Request

The Texas Public Information Act gives the public the right to request access to or copies of information maintained by public entities.  Millsap ISD works to meet information requests in compliance with state and federal laws. To the extent possible, requests are handled in the order they are received.

Although the act makes most information maintained by public entities available to the public, some exceptions exist. If an exception might apply and the governmental body wishes to withhold the information, the governmental body must, within 10 business days of receiving the public information request, refer the matter to the Office of the Attorney General for a ruling.

Fee Schedule is effective for requests made on or after 7/1/2024:

Labor Rate $15/hour	CD-R/CD-RW $1.00
Paper Copies $0.10/each	DVD $3.00
Overhead 20% of labor costs	Audio Cassette $1.00
Other materials at cost

Payments

Payment methods include cash, check, or money order made payable to Millsap ISD. Payments can be mailed to the above address or can be made in person at same address.

Pursuant to section 552.2615 of the Public Information Act (the PIA), chapter 552 of the Government Code, if a request for information under the PIA will result in charges of more than $40, a governmental body must send a cost estimate to the requestor before doing any work on the request.
