This week we would like to spotlight the Secretary of the Millsap ISD School Board, Mr. Jerry Walker.  Mr Walker has been supporting Millsap students and staff as a member of the Board since 2004, and is a proud Bulldog graduate, class of 1987.  

Mr. Walker has watched as his own children have matriculated through Millsap ISD over the years.  His daughter Molly graduated in 2012. She now has a Masters Degree from Dallas Baptist University, and is a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern.  His daughter Jessica graduated in 2014, received her Bachelor’s Degree from Texas A&M University, and is a Registered Nurse specializing in pediatric home health.  His daughter Anna graduated in 2016, and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Hardin Simmons University. His bonus-daughter Abigail Sykes graduated in 2018.  She is currently attending Weatherford College and plans to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Lastly, his bonus-son Nathan Sykes currently participates in basketball, golf, and tennis and will graduate from Millsap High School this week.  

Mr. Walker receives the most joy when he sees MISD growing in academics and character.  He says, “to see them grow into hard working young men and women of character fills my heart”.  During his time on the Board he is proud that “we are continuing to make progress in all areas: academic growth, character development, facility upgrades, fiscal responsibility, and strong leadership.”
