The MISD Board of Trustees met for their monthly meeting Monday evening 10/25/21.  The meeting began with Millsap High School FFA Officers performing the presentation of colors and leading everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance and Texas Pledge.  

The Board made two recognitions on the night.  First, Mrs. Morgan Williams joined the Board as a new Trustee and was attending her first meeting since taking her oath of office.  Mrs. Williams served as a Trustee previously from 2017-2020.  

The second recognition was for Millsap Elementary Assistant Principal Nikki Hagood.  Mrs. Hagood was monitoring students at lunch recently when a student began choking.  She quickly performed the Heimlick maneuver, allowing the student to breathe again.  The Board wanted to recognize her quick actions and for always looking out for all our students at Millsap Elementary.  

There were also four presentations provided to the Board.

• Mr. Jeff Clark, Millsap Middle School Principal presented the great things happening at Millsap Middle School.
• Mrs. Danita Anderson, MISD Social-Emotional Intervention Counselor made a presentation on how she is helping MISD students with their social-emotional health.  
• Mr. Dale Latham, MISD Assistant Superintendent presented the MISD Social Studies Curriculum Overview and an update on Board Academic Goals.
