Staff EOY Awards

The MISD staff gathered at the end of last week in order to celebrate the accomplishments of staff members and award a few that have gone above and beyond to support MISD students and staff throughout the 21-22 school year.

 

The gathering received a treat by opening entertainment provided by the MHS Rock Band.  This group of talented students played multiple songs for the entire staff, showing off the hard work they have put in to put this ensemble together.  

 

Multiple employees received their five-year service pin, celebrating five years as a Millsap ISD employee.  

 

 

Seven members of the MISD staff were celebrating 10 years as a Millsap ISD Employee.

 

 

One member of the MISD staff, Mrs. Missy Dunn, was celebrating 15 years as a Millsap ISD employee.

 

 

Two members of the MISD Staff, Mrs. Bambi King and Mrs. Connie Wiese, were celebrating 20 years as a Millsap ISD staff member.

 

 

One member of the MISD staff, Mrs. Patricia Davis, was celebrating 25 years as a Millsap ISD employee.  

 

 

MANY employees were nominated for awards for their efforts supporting students and staff members throughout the school year. 

 

 

The award categories are:

 

Bulldog Spirit Award

The winner of the Bulldog Spirit Award will exhibit the willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty to serve the students and/or staff of Millsap I.S.D.  This person will display the following characteristics:

  • Caring for students
  • Action(s) that exhibit a dedication and commitment to students
  • Someone that inspires the best in others
  • Someone who develops the character, talents, and gifts of students
  • Someone who has made a difference in the lives of others
  • Someone who has made a difference for our district
  • Someone who is committed and dedicated to Millsap I.S.D. and our community

Millsap ISD Innovation Award

 

The winner of the Millsap ISD Innovation Award will exhibit creativity in their job.  This could be in the classroom utilizing technology tools to increase student engagement, a bus driver finding ways to run their route in a different manner that helps our kids get home safer and sooner each day, or any of 100 examples. The recipient will be someone who is a learner and seeker of new ways to reach this generation of student.

This person will display the following characteristics:

  • Creativity in their job.
  • Action(s) that exhibit a dedication and commitment to the Millsap ISD Mission/Vision/Values.
  • If a teacher, innovative instructional strategies that highly engage students in deep learning experiences.
  • Willingness to take risks to grow and help students grow.
  • Ability to find new ways to attack old problems.
  • Has shown a willingness to share ideas with others.

Positive Paws Award

 

The winner of the Positive Paws Award is someone who is classified as support personnel (anyone who is not a classroom teacher) and helps to accomplish the MISD vision that we will be THE premier education organization.  This person would display the following characteristics:

  • Knowledgeable in their field and helps guide students and/or others to achieve excellence
  • Collaborates with colleagues and students to create a school culture of respect and success
  • Deliberately connects the school and families to foster a strong community
  • Demonstrates leadership in their role and embodies lifelong learning
  • Expresses themselves in an engaging and positive way with others
  • Someone who is committed and dedicated to Millsap I.S.D. and our community
