September 2023 Board of Trustee Recognitions

The MISD Board of Trustees met on September 25 for their monthly meeting to discuss business. During their meeting they recognized students, staff, and community for their accomplishments and generosity to the district.

Mr. Jerry and Mrs. Vickie Durant were recognized for the commitment of a two-million dollar donation to be used for enhancements of the district's athletic complex. Mrs. Durant is a graduate of Millsap ISD and The Durants are long-time Parker County residents known across the area for their giving spirit. This act of kindness will positively impact our Bulldogs of today and continue to propel many generations of student athletes forward in years to come.

The newly formed Millsap ISD Athletic Hall of Fame committee was recognized for their tireless service recognizing the achievements of former student athletes, as well as outstanding coaches. This committee was founded under the direction of Julie Walden and is co-chaired by Lynnette Wolf with Vicki Ashley and Jeri Aaron rounding out the Board of Directors. The inaugural induction into The Athletic Hall of Fame will take place on Sept. 30.

The 7 on 7 football players were recognized for their accomplishments over the summer season. They made it all the way to the semi-finals in the state tournament and lost against the team that went on to win state!
